Plan to bring a basic tool kit unless the instructor has specified tools and supplies in the workshop description. Registration deadlines vary, so register as soon as you know which class you want to take. A few instructors will take walk-ins if they have sufficient supplies, but it cannot be guaranteed. Please pay attention to skill level required, and the sack lunch recommendation for the longer classes.


Class #1 - Hummingbird with Beth Freeman-Kane
  • Dimensions: Outside measurement of the frame of is approximately 4 inches square

  • Class Duration: Full day: 9am to 5pm

Everyone loves a Hummingbird! Spend a fun day creating this magical scene where the vibrant colours of flowers and bird reflect the outstanding skill of this tiny aeronautical acrobat. The cast bird will be provided and acrylic painting techniques taught to bring it to life. Basic flower making and scene setting will be taught and the complete framing kit will be provided. The finished project is a quality piece of art ready to hang in your home!

Tools to bring : Fine scissors, scalpel/craft knife and tweezers. Personal lighting and magnification highly recommended.


Class #2 - ¼" Gothic Display House with Debbie Young
  • Scale: 1/4" scale
  • Skill Level: All skill levels.
  • Cost: $175
  • Class Duration: All day, 8:30am to 5pm
  • Registration Deadline: October 1, 2018

This ¼" Gothic Display House combines the best of both worlds, with architectural detail and electrified rooms that will highlight furniture. Because all the rooms are viewed from the front, it will be the perfect place to display all of your special Halloween pieces.

The house is electrified using LEDs. The roofs are pre-shingled and cast making assembly quick and easy. The house consists of 4 room sized vignettes (the one behind the front porch slides out for easy decorating) and a tiny attic room as well as room on the porch for additional displays.

Instructor provides all paints and supplies, glues, sandpapers, emery boards, cutting boards, waxed paper etc.  Students need only a very basic tool kit containing a pencil, X-acto knife, scissors and paintbrushes (for house and detail work).


Class #3 - Carousel Locket with Ginger Landon-Siegel
  • Scale: Wearable Art -  1/144th Carousel
  • Skill Level: All skill levels.
  • Cost: $68
  • Class Duration: Half day, 8am - 12pm
  • Registration Deadline: October 5, 2018.

Sparkling lights twinkle as the galloping horses and colorful animals slowly move up and down to the floating melodies of the traveling carousel.  Whether your memory is of a favorite horse or one of the many menagerie animals at the fair, this class will give you the opportunity to make your own unique two-sided wearable piece of art.

You will choose from a variety of PRE-CUT horses and an assortment of PRE-CUT animals, including an elephant, unicorn, zebra and more.  You will learn how to apply metallic dimensional paints to build out your horses/animals to give them depth.  The canopy of your piece will also be enhanced with dimensional paints, teeny studs, trims and a variety of delicate rhinestones to add a bit of sparkle to your piece.  Your carousel will be placed in a 2” clear sided round locket so you will be able to view your finished carousel from both sides.

Tools and Supplies Needed:  Tacky glue, tweezers, scissors.


Class #4 - Faux Stained Glass Chandelier with Ginger Landon-Siegel
  • Scale: 1:12th
  • Skill Level: All skill levels.
  • Cost: $60
  • Class Duration: 12:30pm - 4:30pm
  • Registration Deadline: October 5, 2018.

Spend an afternoon creating a beautiful chandelier that will add a bit of elegance to any miniature scene.  Students will be taught the techniques to design and create the faux stained glass shades and how to shape and prepare them to fit the arms of the chandler.  Students will also add enhancements to the base of the chandelier for some extra sparkle.  Class will include the wired chandelier, shaping tools, enhancements, colored pencils and an assortment of designs to create the desired number of shades for the style of chandelier you would like to make.

Tools:  Pliers, tweezers, scissors.


Class #5 - Holiday Swag for Door or Coach Lamp with Jeannie Lindquist
  • Scale: 1:12th
  • Skill Level: All levels, although some students will not finish, especially beginners.
  • Cost: $150
  • Class Duration: 9am to 4pm
  • Registration Deadline: Ocober 12, 2018

Make a Holiday door swag or a Holiday swag for a Coach Lamp to add an extra zing and say "Welcome" of Christmas roses, pine branches, holly and a red bow. Students will learn special tips and techniques that Jeannie has learned to make botanically accurate, highly detailed flowers and greens in 1:12 scale. Flowers and green pieces are colored on both sides of special paper, then, laser cut so scissors are not needed for this step. Another special tip is making the bow. If you decide to make the door swag or coach lamp swag to hang on your mini door or coach lamp mounted next to your door, Jeannie will have both ways in a sample to show students the effectiveness of hanging in either place. All skill levels are welcome. A box will be provided for the finished swag.

Student supplies: Your mini-making tools including small needle nose pliers, sharp medium and small scissors, single edge razor blade, nail clippers, small round #0 or #3/0 round paint brush, small embossing tools, tweezers, T-pin, heavy dense cardboard or thick paper coaster for a cutting mat, Magic tape,  Aleene's tacky glue or equal, Super Glue, fine point, brown and lime Sharpie pens, pencil, plastic ruler and paper. A good lighted magnifier is a must. Bring an extension cord if your light is not battery powered.


Class #6 - Basic Silver Soldering and Triple Shade Desk Lamp with Jim Pounder
  • Scale: 1:12th, 12V DC
  • Skill Level: Beginning or intermediate.
  • Cost: $85
  • Class Duration: 8:30am to 3:30pm
  • Registration Deadline: October 5, 2018

This class will compare the differences between soft solders and silver solders, the basics of cleaning metal, uses of fluxes, and the proper application of heat. Students will spend most of the morning practicing with a butane torch and familiarize with effects of heat on fluxes, solder melting points, and metal annealing. Students will graduate to soldering their class project, a Triple Flower Desk Lamp, and learn the process of wiring and soldering electrical wires.

Tools required: Instructor provides all materials and supplies.  Students bring eye protection and/or mag glasses.


Class #7 - 6 Layer Macaron Cake with Ruth Stewart, Stewart Dollhouse Creations
  • Scale: 1:12th
  • Skill Level: All skill levels.
  • Cost: $85
  • Class Duration: 9:00am to 5:00pm
  • Registration Deadline: Day of class.

Join me for a day of cake baking and macaron making! Want to learn how to easily use our silicone molds? How about making 6 layer cakes with texture already in the mix! Drippy chocolate good enough to eat... If so this class is for you! You will get all the supplies in a wonderful cake kit to learn how to use my silicone molds properly, make sliceable textured cakes and build layered cakes.

Already have a macaron mold? If you don't want a second, bring your mold to class to use and I will give you credit for a new mold of your choosing! This class is going to be fun! Bon appetit!


Class #8 - Quarter Scale Kitchen Magic with Sally Manwell
  • Scale: ¼ scale
  • Skill Level: Beginner to intermediate.
  • Cost: $70
  • Class Duration: 8:30am to 12:30pm.
  • Registration Deadline: Day of class.

Put together a table and a laser cut hutch, then paint and/or stain them. Add potion bottles made from a variety of beads, plastic tubing and 3 D printed bottles. Fill a shelf with magic books and a special book for the table. Make a broom, a bird cage, a plant for the hutch, an enchanted mixing bowl and plant some mushrooms Add a couple of pumpkins and you are ready to make magic in your quarter scale kitchen. Use as a stand alone piece or add it to a scene.

Tools needed: scissors, tweezers, small glue jig, paint brush for table and hutch, old scissors for cutting wood, marking pens for potion bottles and pitchers.


Class #9 - Bookbinding and Tooling a 17th Century book with Tine Krijnen
  • Scale: 1:12th
  • Skill Level: level All levels but must have good eye/hand coordination.
  • Cost: $122
  • Class Duration: 9am to 3:30pm
  • Registration Deadline: Day of class.

This class will teach students how to make a leather bound book on a sewing frame. Learn the techniques of bookbinding. Using the thinnest leather and the easiest tooling gear to make a lovely book for their collection. Choice from three titles; Songs of Shakespeare, Tulip book and D. de Bray (short lessons of bookbinding). Students will go home with a finished product and the knowledge how to make a book. Included is the offset readable printed pages, finest leather and material to make a book. Use of the sewing frame and tooling equipment during the workshop. During the day we will choose one booktitle. The other titles can be purchased after class to work on at home.

Students tools: Xacto break of blade knife, cutting mat, extension cord and extra light. (Due to flight weight restrictions I won’t bring knifes, mats or lights and cords. )


Class #10 - Seashell Collection in Laser-cut Shadowbox with Lynn O’Shaughnessy
  • Dimensions: 1"W x 1.2"L x 3/16"D

In this enjoyable and creative class, students will design and complete a dynamic “shell” collection to feature inside a shadow-box that’s topped with an acrylic “glass” window. To highlight your personal collection, a variety of background colors are provided; seashells in your kit will add variety, shape and pattern (red, green, yellow, purple, striped, mottled); and design elements are added through oceanic artifacts such as sea urchin spines (purple & green spikes); snow-white shark’s teeth & barnacle claws; and peachy pink beach sand shaped like stars and sunrays. Students will choose one of the tiny shells I’ve sliced open in my lapidary shop) and will also find a number in the kit they select—which entitles them to select a special shell to feature in their display.

Teacher supplies: All materials and supplies for class project + additional supplies available for sale. Students need: fine-point tweezers and scissors, + either a visor or 3-power reading glasses. Also recommended Portable light and extension cord.


Class #11 - Tiny Turquoise Necklace with Sterling Silver Accents with Lynn O’Shaughnessy
  • Scale: 1:12th (1-inch scale)
  • Skill Level: All skill levels.
  • Cost: $48
  • Class Duration: 1:00pm to 4:00pm
  • Registration Deadline: October 8, 2018

In this 3-hour class, you will be able to create a turquoise necklace featuring the stunning and highly prized “robin’s egg blue” turquoise from Arizona’s Sleeping Beauty mine. These turquoise beads are known as heishi (tube-shaped beads), and at an average diameter of 1.1mm-1.3mm, they are  the tiniest turquoise beads ever made—also suitable to adorn your favorite 6" doll. Each kit contains 4" of turquoise plus 1.5" of lapis-lazuli and sterling silver beads for contrast.  While time spent depends on your design complexity, most students complete a 3.5" – 4" necklace with a hook & eye in the in class and have enough supplies left to make matching earrings later on.
