Hotel Information 2016
Show room rate is $99 per night for single or double, plus taxes, October 5, 2016 - October 10, 2016. Parking is an additional $12 per day with in and out parking privileges. This room rate is available until September 14th or until the group block is sold out. Make reservations early since our hotel block has been sold out several months in advance of the show every year since 2013.

Daily Show Parking
$12 per day - Friday, Saturday, and Sunday with Validation
Parking is only available in the hotel lot, street parking is not available. Bring your parking ticket to the show entrance and use the self-service validation machine to validate your parking ticket. Pay for your parking at any parking kiosk. Kiosks accept cash or credit cards. If your ticket is not validated, parking can cost as much as $22.00 for a full day.

Friday, October 6th

Friday Workshops


Join us for exciting workshops on Friday, October 6th, featuring prominent teachers from all over the country. Friday Workshops are held at the hotel.  

Saturday, October 7th & Sunday, October 8th

Sales Tables



Shop with 100 dealers featuring artisans from all over the country and several international dealers, including a number of IGMA Artisans and Fellows! You'll find everything you need to finish that special miniature project including dollhouses, room boxes, unique furniture, beautiful dolls, food that looks good enough to eat, holiday items and much more. List posted in early March.


Exhibits


Unique and one-of-a-kind exhibits on display outside the sales floor. First-time and long-time exhibitors are strongly encouraged to bring their room boxes, structures and unusual containers to share in 2016.


Free Fun for Kids!  Children can make a miniature project of their very own at our free Children's Workshops Saturday and Sunday from Noon until 3 pm. They can try building, landscaping, or soar with their imagination before going over to the Children's Sales Table where we have priced miniature items for a child's budget.


Dealer Donation Drawings Tickets will be on sale for the Dealer Donation Drawings to be held Sunday at 3:15 pm.  You do not need to be present to win.

Saturday, October 7th Only

Silent Auction The Silent Auction will be Saturday, October 7th from 10 am to 2 pm There will be wonderful miniatures to bid on. Bid early, bid often.


Pre-Registered Children's Workshops


We have special classes for children at the show on Saturday. Children must be pre-registered for these classes. Information about our 2017 classes should be posted by early September.

Sunday, October 8th Only

Tools and Techniques Sunday, October 8th from 9:30 am to 10:50 am we will have a FREE "Tools and Techniques" seminar for all. It is held at the show venue and will cover a number of power and hand tools, as well as information on roofing, flooring, wall treatments, basic landscaping, and other aspects of making miniatures. Please join us.


Dealer Donation Drawings Our spectacular dealers donate items to a special Dealer Donation Drawing.  Tickets may be purchased at the show and winners will be drawn Sunday at 3:15pm.  You do not need to be present to win.

After the Show, Monday October 9th

Good Sam Academy of Miniatures


The Good Sam Academy of Miniatures offers multi-day classes taught by miniaturists that are leaders in their selected fields and have been teaching their skills to miniaturists for several years.  Classes will take place immediately after the 2016 Good Sam Show.

2017 Workshops

We offer a variety of fun workshops every year. We have free ones for little children, pre-registered workshops for children ages 9 to 14, and Friday workshops for adults.

  • Friday Pre-registered Workshops, October 6th, 2017. Workshops will be announced in June 2017.
  • Good Sam Academy of Miniatures, October 9th, 2017. Workshops will be announced June 2017.
  • Children's Pre-registered Workshops, Saturday, October 7th, 2017 - To be announced early September 2017
  • Free Children's Workshops Saturday and Sunday from Noon until 3 pm.

Each year talented miniaturists exhibit their exciting creations at our show. All of you make the show very special with your exhibits. Our thanks to you for exhibiting includes one free ticket to the show for you.

News flashes as we prepare for the Showcase of Miniatures


24 September 2016:
Starbucks sandwiches, next to Sprigs, will remain open until 3 pm both Saturday and Sunday to make food available for late lunches.
The Doubletree Hotel is opening an adjoining parking lot to make additional parking available to show attendees.

Rik Pierce, Frogmorton Studios to attend 2016 Good Sam Show

Rik Pierce is excited to be a part of the Good Sam Showcase of Miniatures in 2016. His new book “The Magical World of Rik Pierce” written by Martha Puff & Deb Weissler and designed by Michael Puff will be available and Rik will be happy to sign a copy for you!

He will also have his new original line of castings available. They may be seen prior to the show by going to his new Frogmorton website at www.frogmorton.com. This site will give you tons of ideas of how to use his castings in your own dollhouse structures. By clicking on the Etsy Shop button, you will be able to see the various castings he has available. If you e-mail your order to him at rik@frogmorton.com, you will save shipping fees and he will be able to deliver your castings to you at the show! If you need your order sooner, please place your order thru Etsy.

Volunteers Welcome!
Would you like to be part of the community that helps make the Good Sam Show a success? We are looking for volunteers to help during the show. Volunteer shifts are available for Saturday or Sunday and you will receive free entry to the show. Please contact our Show Chairman, Ruth Heisch for more information.
Donations to the Show
For all donations, including the Silent Auction, contact Ruth Heisch to arrange for delivery. Donations may also be brought to the show. Donations are tax deductible. We are also looking for power and hand tools to support the Good Sam Academy of Miniatures.
